Lunabrite is a new technology (patent pending) that can add an element of safety to nocturnal marine proceedings. The glowing material comes in plastic piping that can be used in various different applications.
The piping must be exposed to sunlight or bright artificial light for five to 30 minutes. Thirty minutes will give the maximum charge for over eight hours. The brightest light is visible in the first three to four hours and then diminishes slowly after that. The product is best viewed in complete darkness.

Lunabrite works on the molecular level and absorbs light to charge. The product does not use batteries, bulbs or wiring, making it great for use around water. The manufacturers say that the product has been successfully tested for a lifespan of eight to 15 years, needs no maintenance and can be attached to virtually any surface. Reportedly the product glows ten times brighter and lasts approximately ten times longer than other products. Lunabrite can be seen from approximately ten to 30 metres away depending on the conditions, diameter and amount of piping used.
The piping is available in small (3/16" OD), medium (5/16") and large (3/8") and standard colours are bright blue, green blue and lime green. Lunabrite can be ordered from the website.
