The 7 Stars of the Month
Each month we celebrate those who have done something extra-special in the yachting community with the Seven Stars of the Month.
Chris Allix of Dominion Marine
Dominion Marine has adopted Manx charity Sailing for the Disabled to mark its 25th anniversary in yachting. Helping fundraise for a new sail boat, during the Monaco Show Dominion will be hosting events at stand QS6 – all are invited to join in.

On 2 August the 12-strong trimaran crew smashed the west-to-east transatlantic record with a time of 3:15:25:48 – over 12 hours faster than the previous best time. Nominated by SP, the marine business of Gurit, which worked on the composite engineering of the vessel.

Juan Felix Bravo
This committed sportsman broke the record in July for the fastest 1,000km on a PWC by over 12 hours, achieving the distance in ten hours and nine minutes – reaching a phenomenal peak speed of 112kmph (60.5kn) on the Sea-Doo RXT iS 255.

Zac Sunderland
The 17-year-old Californian sailor became the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe solo on 16 July, after 397 days at sea. Starting out from Marina Del Rey in a $6,000, 1972, 36-ft Islander Sailboat, he covered almost 28,000nm.

The President of InteliSea has created a new user-friendly monitoring and control application called Remote InteliSea Access (or Ria™) for the iPhone which links up to the vessel’s navigation, monitoring and security systems among others. Technology designed with crew’s needs in mind!
